SHANAS HISTORY
On the 22 June 2014 I completed my first training on the Optimist on the lake of Thun. My father joined me with the motorboat, like that I got my very first tips. From that moment on I wanted to go in every free minute on the water, with my Optimist to learn and get better.
In 2017 I sailed my first Swiss championship in Ascona. In Ascona I learned my lessons in strong wind, probably it helped me to get through it easier later. Five years later I won the Swiss championship again in Ascona.
In 2019 I got accepted for the sport class in Thun. From that moment on it was much easier for me to handle sailing and school together. I stayed in that school for three years. In the same year we got second at the Optimist team race Swiss championship, in Lugano.

2020 I learned a lot in that year, in every session I made new experiences, but there are always lower moments, but these ones make you even stronger. I started to work a lot more on my mental health, my mental coach Eveline Bhend is always by my side to help me out and make me better. This topic was another key that led to my qualification for the Europeans. I achieved one of my first goals and qualified my self for the Optimist European championship, in Portoroz Slowenia. Covid-19 came and nothing got easier, we managed to sail a shortened qualification. I finished the European championship on the 17th place from 113 boats. In the national ranking we got third with the Swiss team. In the same year we won the Optimist team race Swiss championship in Oberhofen.
2021 a exciting year was a head, I qualified again for the European championship in Cadiz Spain. It was a difficult regatta for me, we had a lot of wind, waves and current. I learned a lot and made memories that are going to last for a life time. I finished the regatta on the 45th place from 116 boats. In that year I also got my 2nd Swiss champion title, we won again at the Optimist team race Swiss championship in Neuenburg. In the autumn 2021 I changed finally to the ILCA 4. I sailed some weeks, afterwards I had a winter break.

2022 Already in the beginning of the new year we headed to Imperia (Italy) for my first training camp with my new coach Theresa Lagler and the new team. They are still my current team with which I am doing all of my regattas and trainings. In that first year on the new boat class happened a lot, I sailed my first European championship on the ILCA 4 in Dzwinow (Poland). I ended up on the 31th place from 132 boats. From that moment on I started to sail in international races with the goal to be in front. Another peak event followed the World championship in Vilamoura (Portugal). It was a quite big challenge for me to sail in the high level and the conditions we had. I earned lots of new experiences and learned a lot in the new boat class. I finished this Championship on the 50th place from 154 boats. The next event was coming up, the Swiss championship I knew that the chance was there to win this regatta. At that moment I was not sailing ILCA 4 for a whole year, I gave everything in each race, it stayed suspenseful until the last day even the last race. In the last race I gave one last time everything and ended up being Swiss champion! What a feeling, what a regatta and what a first year on the new boat.
This season my goal is to sail in the really front at international events. At the European - and World championship the goal is to sail in the top 10.
